BCVS - II

▪ Introduction :

BCVS-II is the subject of the second semester for our branch CSBS. Like BCVS-I, it also became one of my favorite subjects from the second semester. It was designed in a very good manner such that each topic taught and each lab session we have done is going to add beautiful colors to our life. We have to thank our professor, Dr. Mahesh Shinde sir for increasing our interest in this subject which will help us in real life.

▪ course content :

It contains the following topics:  1. Enhancing reading and writing skills. 2. Employment communication. 3. Presentation skills. 4. Business meetings. 5. Life skills / Soft skills I    . 6. Life skills / soft skills II

Each topic was very important. we have studied new things like group discussions and the interview process, presentations, how to do this effectively, strategies for that, etc. In the 5th and 6th topics, we studied things related to personality development like emotional intelligence, time management,  etc.

Every lab session was effective, we did the following things: Group discussions, Mock interviews,  presentations, an NGO visit, and Forming a mock NGO.

▪ My experience :

1. Group discussion: our lab session started by conducting GDs on various topics like chatgpt, online learning vs offline learning, Growing startups in India, etc. In this, we learn how to put our thoughts effectively in front of other members.  Also, we learned when to speak,  how to speak, and how to maintain flow in GD. So this experience is going to help us in GDs.

2. Mock Interviews :  From forming our resume and application letter to giving an interview, it was a great experience to have. We experienced both, the role of a candidate and a panel member. It increased my confidence while giving answers and understanding level of how to give accurate answers. I understand the proper attire and the postures and gesture that candidate should follow.

3. Presentations :
After learning presentation skills in class it was time to implement that during lab. So we did presentation on NGOs which are working internationally,  nationally and at state and district level. Through this we got to know more NGOs and how they work.

4. An NGO visit : We batch - 2 of CSBS visited an NGO Chetana Vikas Mandir near Shenda Park, Kolhapur as our activity in the lab session. Really It was an incredible experience to visit this School and workshop for intellectually disabled students. Firstly we got to know about the school and the admissions process of students and documents related to it from Madam. Then we saw classrooms and workshops for students. We were overwhelmed by seeing the happy faces of the kids and their creativity in art-related things.Visiting Chetna NGO was an eye-opening experience. At last when everyone from NGO stood together for their prayer, that atmosphere thought me something new experience. That means ,irrespective of difference in their ages they behave like they are of same Age level. Really, it was best & unforgettable moment. Their teachers have put in amazing efforts to make their students independent and ready to face society. Overall the NGO is doing great.

5. Forming a  mock NGO : We have decided to form an NGO next year for that we have planed the name , vision and mission of our NGO. So our batch have decided to run an NGO for youths who are suffering from depression, who have lost interest in studies and who have no hopes for life. It is need to start NGO on this. So our vision is  To provide a safe, supportive environment for youth to learn and maintain mental and emotional well-being, promote mental health awareness and empower them to take control of the mental health for fulfilling lives. We have decided  name for this is Empower U. It will be great experience to work on this project.

It was an amazing journey to learn and experience BCVS-II. And we can't wait to experience such amazing things in BCVS-III.

Thank you.
